A Multi-Realm World
Enyekala currently has 11 different realms, each with its own coordinate system:
-
Outback (the starter realm)
The Outback is the starter realm where all new players first appear. This realm is to get set up with the basics for survival in the other realms. It is also where you will respawn if you die without a valid respawn position. Note that with the exception of very few things, digging anything in the Outback will not earn you any Mineral XP. The outback will from time to time "Reset" to a pristine state, so nothing here is permanent. Check the "Calendar of Enyekala" to see when the wind will next blow. Note that player's bones are never removed by the reset.
-
Enyekala (Formerly known as the "Overworld") *
Enyekala is the oldest realm and at first glance it may appear to be just a "World of Stone & Ice". But dig a little deeper (pun intended) and you'll find a world rich in resources of all sorts. In fact most of the resources available on this server can be found in Enyekala, or the connected Cavern or Nether realms. There are of course a few exceptions, but these connected realms are by far the richest on the server.
-
Caverns *
Located somewhere below Enyekala and above the Nether realms, the Cavern realm is also rich in resources and can vary quite a bit, from solid stone to dark caves, to spectacularly lit up caverns. There is of course no shortage of mobs eager to help your bonebox deployment. You have been warned!
-
Nether *
The Nether realm is located below the Cavern realm and whilst it has fewer resources it does offer some special items which can not be found anywhere else. It is not a place to get complacent or comfortable, and in some areas every step may be your last.
-
Jarkati
On the surface Jarkati appears to be a realm of sand and sandstone, with a few sparse shrubs and single nodes of dirt. But some exploration below the surface can reveal some very pretty scenes as well!
-
Channelwood
Channelwood has water - lots of it (Hint - bring a boat!). Channelwood used to be somewhat bland in appearance but has recently undergone some significant changes and it is worth exploring new areas to see all it has to offer.
-
Naraxen
Naraxen is rumoured to be even deeper than the Nether and it can certainly be just as unpleasant, if not more so. It does however have a number of unique resources that can only be found here. Just like in the Nether it is not possible to place water in Naraxen, but here some mobs can make you feel so uncomfortable that you'll really want to take a bath!
-
Midfeld
Midfeld is a special realm, slightly larger than the Outback and somewhat similar in appearance. It is used as a mid-way stop when travelling using a Flame Staff. As with the Outback, mining here will not earn you Mineral XP. Midfeld also "Resets" from time to time so nothing here is permanent. Check the "Calendar of Enyekala" to find out when the fog will settle next.
-
Carcorsica (New realm as of December 2024)
Carcorsica is largely unexplored at this stage, but travellers who have ventured there and lived to return bring back tales of giant obsidian asteroids and rugged mountains reaching up to the stars at night
-
Saravinca (New realm as of December 2024)
Saravinca is also relatively unexplored, however it has been reported that it is not unlike the outback in appearance. But appearances can be deceiving, will you find out what dangers are lurking in hidden places?
-
Ir-Xen
There are legends about a mysterious realm called "Ir-Xen", long forgotten until this canvas painting of a place like no other was discovered in a deceased player's bones, along with an incomprehensible journal. No interdimensional gate has ever been reported to lead to a place like this. Could the legends really be true?
* The Enyekala/Caverns/Nether realms are connected, so it is possible to move between these realms without the need for any special method of transportation. Because they are interconnected they also share the same coordinate system, unlike the other realms.
Travelling Between Realms
With the exception of the Enyekala/Caverns/Nether realms, the realms are not interconnected and can only be accessed by using interdimensional gates. It is possible to travel from Enyekala to other realms (except to the Outback and Midfeld) using Obsidian Gates built on a tall mountain above 140. Note that this needs to be a natural mountain. Building an Obsidian gate on a tall platform will result in an unpleasant surprise. Gates built lower than this will result in a destination within the Enyekala realm.
Realm Resets
The Outback and Midfeld realms periodically reset as shown on the "Calendar of Enyekala". This calendar is a starter item and can also be crafted. When the realms reset all changes made by players are wiped out and the realms are restored to a pristine condition. Player bones remain and are never wiped out.
